Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings

So this last weekend was President's Day right? Yeah, so that means that we had a long weekend! No work or school for us on Monday, so we had a play day. Sunday night we had a slumber party... Yes that's right, you read that correctly, a slumber party! We went over to our besties home on Sunday night for dinner and had a sleep over! We watched movies, ate food, talked, played games, and boy was it fun! Monday we had a rousing game of Risk, but not regular old risk, rather Lord of the Rings Risk! I know, that sounds intense, and it was! We turned on Lord of the Rings music on Pandora as we played, each person trying to take over Middle Earth! Well, after several hours of play we decided to call it a game because we were no where near the end. We declared no winner, but I will say, it looked awfully good for me...

Before our sleepover on Sunday and Monday we had a fun date on Satruday. We went out with Maile and Michael to the Nicklecade again and it was super fun! They have these one games where there are 4 right next to eachother and you can race eachother, so we did that one a lot since we could all 4 play. David won like everytime I think, I got second everytime but once. We had to rotate machines so that we would know that no one machine had the advantage ha ha. We figured out that Michael is just really bad a racing, not that the machine he was on was bad ha ha.

Once our week began though it was a rough one. Full of tests and homework. Like today, David has to take a test and he won't get home tonight until probably 10pm. Last night David and I only got to spend about 2 hours together before it was time for us to turn in and go to sleep. It was crazy, but it was good because David got to go tutor a girl in math and he made $40, so now we get to have a sweet date tomorrow! Starting off with a trip to the Oquirra Mountain Temple and then lunch at Joe's Crab Shack. It should be fun. I've never been to the Oquirra Mountain Temple, but it's close to Joe's, so we decided it would be fun to go there. Last time we went to Joe's Crab Shack was the day after we got married, it was delicious! So we've had quite the hankering to go back.

So I'm reading all the Harry Potter books, I love them. I'm on the third one right now and it's getting so intense! Of course I know what happens because I've seen the movies a million times because I love them, but it's still exciting! It's fun to find the differences between the books and movies as I'm reading, which I'm finding that they are really close! The third one definitely has the most differences so far.

All Things Valentine

So, Valentines day is Awesome! David and I decided to celebrate last Saturday since we would be able to spend the whole day together rather than on Tuesday when we woul only see eachother after 7pm. So we went to Tucano's for lunch and it was delicious! They had a Valentines special going on, where for just a few more dollars you got extra special kinds of meat, like london broil wrapped in bacon and delicious stuff like that. We also got a rose and chocolate truffles at the end. The rose was beautiful but I don't like chocolate so David got both truffles.

While we waited for lunch, because there was an hour wait (I think a lot of people had the same idea as us to celebrate early), we went over to the Provo Beach Club and rode the Carosel, which we also did last year, so we decided to make a tradition of it and ride a carosel every year for Valentines day. We killed the time by playing some games and winning like 450 tickets in like 30 minutes! I'm sure that has to be some kind of record! We used our tickets to buy some blow up golf clubs and a ball so that we can play miniature golf in our apartment, rubber duckies, a whoopie cushon and some other little trinkets.

After lunch David took me to see "The Vow," which is a new chick flick that I have wanted to see. Unfortunately it wasn't as good as I wanted it to be, but it was still fun and I appreciate that he took me to see it. Afterward we went to FYE, which is a huge entertainment store where you can get movies, cds, games and stuff like that. Apparently they are closing so they were having a huge sale and everything was cheap. So we were lucky enough to find matching Mario t-shirts! David found a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles one too. They were each only like 5 dollars, so we definitely scored! I love my new mario shirt, I've been wanting one for a long time, since Mario is pretty much one of my heros and all, and it's fun that we have matching ones too.

We gave eachother gifts, David gave me some really beautiful flowers, a mix of roses and lilies. Lilies are my favorite. They have made our apartment smell so good this last week and they are just so beautiful to look at! He also got me a really great new blender because our old one doesn't work. I love it! We've had smoothies pretty much everyday this week. No joke. Yum. I gave David a new pair of pajamas, a pair of jeans, a t-shirt, and I made him a photobook of he and I and our adventures together called "Happiness is..." It was such a good day and we had so much fun together. I love being in love, and I love that I have such a fun husband.

Blessings and Zombies

So last weekend we were able to go down to St. George for my nephew's baby blessing and visit my family. We arrived in Hurricane on Friday night and just chilled around the house and relaxed which was nice. Saturday we decided we wanted to do something fun, so we went to an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet in St. George. But we didn't actually leave the house until like 2 or 3 because we brought every dirty article of clothing that we had, so that we could do our laundry while we were there, so I had started a load Friday night and continued into Saturday morning. So basically we weren't able to get dressed until we had dry clothes ha ha. But we went to this Chinese place and my mom and dad met us there after my mom picked my dad up from the airport, the food was ok, not my favorite, but I loved the company and those little deep fried sugar coated donuts that they have, mmm. We stopped by Walmart on the way home to pick up a few things and played video games that they have out for sample play ha ha. We like to do that sometimes. Anyway, my little nephew Noah had his baby blessing and my whole family was there, it was great. After the Noah's blessing we went over to a friend of Lisa and Greg's (my sister and bro-in-law) home for an open house. We caravaned all the way across town with like 10 to 12 cars! It was intense, but everybody made it there, so it was pretty funny, and lucky that we didn't lose anyone at a stoplight or something. We rode the whole way with the windows down because it was such beautiful weather! Yes, it's February, which is one reason I love St. George so much. I tell David all the time that I want to live somewhere warm with mild winters, but we'll see what the future brings I guess. Anyway, they had delicious Cafe Rio type food and cupcakes at the open house where we got to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. I got to play with my nephews and it was really fun. We stayed long enough so that David could watch most of the Superbowl with my dad and brother Jeff, and then we drove back again. It was a fun weekend for sure.

We've had a busy week since we've been back, both of us have had tests for school and have had work. We borrowed the first season of the tv show "The Walking Dead" from my dad while we were in Hurricane and started watching that this week in the evenings, it's about zombies and it's crazy! The other night David started making some weirdo noises in his sleep and I woke up thinking there was a zombie ha ha. It was pretty funny.

We've decided that we are going to celebrate Valentines Day tomorrow on Saturday rather than Tuesday because Tuesdays are our long days with school and work where we work and are at school for like 11 or 12 hours, so yeah, we will hardly even see one other that day, and Saturdays we get to spend the whole day together! So I will have to go get the rest of David's present today, since I have the day off. I made him a photo book already and he found it early, so he is supposed to act surprised anyway when I give it to him tomorrow ha ha.

Pizza, Nickles and more

So this last weekend was awesome! So awesome that I didn't have time to write about it until now. First of all we got to sleep in and relax on Saturday which was great! Then we went to lunch at Pizza Pie Cafe, which I don't know if you guys know, but Pizza Pie Cafe is awesome! It's all you can eat salad, pasta, and pizza, including dessert pizza, which is important to mention because it's like half of what we eat ha ha. After stuffing ourselves we decided that we would go to the Nicklecade. It's awesome because we only spent $10 there and we were there for like 2 hours! It was SO fun! We played oldschool Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Mario, as well as newer ones like Fruit Ninja and some shooting games and some racing games. Also, I am proud to say that I beat David at both racing games that we played, which didn't make him too happy ha ha, but I'm skilled, what can I say? After we spent all our nickles we used the 60 tickets that we won to buy a fun little plastic popper that you turn inside out and set on a flat surface and it shoots up in the air. Then we got two little umbrellas to fancy up our drinks when we got home. I made Crystal Lite, we put in our umbrellas and relaxed on the couch watching movies the rest of the night, it was awesome!

Once Monday rolled around it was back to the daily grind which has kept me busy enough to not write until now, but luckily I have Fridays off work now to do stuff like write in my blog! David kept really busy this week with his career fair at school. I guess there were like 120-150 different engineering companies that went to BYU to this career fair to try and find people for jobs or for internships, so David was there meeting people and handing out his resume in hopes of getting a summer internship. He's already applied to places in Seattle, Washington DC and places all over Utah, but this career fair just gave him more opportunites. I guess several of the companies will be back on campus next week doing interviews of some of the people they met at the fair, so David is hoping to get a few calls and have some interviews. Which of course I think he will get a bunch of interviews because I think he's a genius, so who wouldn't hire him? Right?

This weekend should be fun too, we are headed down to Southern Utah tonight to go to my nephew's baby blessing. We're excited to get to hang out with my family. Also, I'm fulling intending on bringing ALL of our laundry and doing it while we are down there. We haven't done our laundry for like 2 weeks and we are down to the wire, so we are bringing it all with us so that we don't have to pay $15 to do it at our apartment complex in their lame facility. Besides, then we hardly have to pack anything, because we are bringing all of our clothes with us already! All we have to bring is toiletries :).
